We empower communities facing hardship through support of local women-led initiatives.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, a group of friends recognized that communities needed support across many fronts. Workers across industries have lost their jobs and livelihoods at an unprecedented rate, restaurant business are collapsing, and small businesses are devastated — while healthcare workers fight to contain the pandemic on the frontlines. Starting with a few small connections between existing businesses and the frontline workers, and utilizing their broad range of experience across the business and non-profit sectors, they established Cura Collective for a new kind of philanthropic support.
The Cura Collective is committed to establishing a philanthropic framework for empowerment investing. Centered around the goal of playing a temporary role in bridging gaps to help address major issues, the New York City-based nonprofit partners with local women-led initiatives to address major issues facing us today, including health, socioeconomics, and community well-being.
Taking inspiration from the heart shown by Italy during the COVID-19 pandemic, ‘Cura’ translates simply to ‘Care.’ We believe that the most powerful care comes through communities coming together to help those among them who need it most.
